Hola Chicos y Chicas!!!!
Get this! Yesterday I was stung by a scorpion! A pretty big one too, for Georgia. He had a good three inches of body length or so. It felt like someone jabbed a needle into my finger. I don't know how something so small could hurt so much, but my finger is STILL hurting today, and I was stung at about 7:30am (while getting the horses fresh water) on Saturday! Yeah, it hurt and made me dizzy, but I had a graduation to get to, so I made myself quit crying and go get a shower. I can't tell you the last time I cried because something physically hurt me. Not when bees or wasps sting. Not when I fall on the downhill cement outside my apartment like a drunk kid, even though I was (and always have been) perfectly sober and on my way to class. Not even when I whack my toes on the doorway to everydoorway I come across. The scorpion wins. We named him "king" (scorpion king, get it? haha) last night- I captured him in a jar Saturday evening when I was doing my chores. He is a fiesty lil dude. I drove out to the Little's and Henry, Dana, Tom, Frank, and Will were watching "The Grudge." (aside: that movie is STUPID. And it still made me scream because I am a wuss in scary movies. But it is a waste of time and money- just so ya know.) Anyway, so Tom started goofing off by putting on one of Dr. Little's hats like Indiana Jones, then shaking up King and making him run in circles (we didn't take King out of the jar, we just shook the whole thing. None of us are that dumb.) Anyway, it was really funny, and Dana recorded some of it on her digital camera so I hope to see it soon! =)
Congratulations to Ben, for graduating from Piedmont. It's definately a tough school when you take hard classes, and you did, so you should be proud of yourself!!! =)> And thanks for a short graduation ceremony- less than an hour! awesome! Also, congrats to Katie Smith, Katie Moss, Sam Wallace, and any other people I know that graduated this month! I am proud of yall!
Alrighty, so I am done house and petsitting for the Parks finally, which is great. I mean, I didn't mind it at all, and I LOVE their pets, but I just hate bugs, and I didn't like the spiders I always found in the bathroom. And it was a LOT of work taking care of the horses. I now know why my parents refused to buy me one back in the days when I took horseback-riding lessons. That only took almost 20 years of my life to figure out, but now I know.
OOOOOOh!!!!!! Exciting news!!! My boots are finally in at Saddlerack in Athens, so I am going to pick them up and pay for them on Tuesday!!! YES! I am so stoked about that! *grin* =) I will be in Athens to babysit for the Armstrongs, so I guess I will go by Saddlerack early. yay!!!
Today, I was late to church because Kristen doesn't have a car here and she was sick, so it took her a while to get ready. It wasn't a big deal, but I hope that the church doesn't start to think I am a slacker Christian coming in late 3 times in a month now. I seriously always have a good excuse, but it's not like I can just stop the service and explain every time. Oh well, at least Kristen was able to come and she started to feel better! =)
I wasn't able to make it to Mr. Smith's retirement surprise party today, which is so sad! I was really looking forward to being able to make it out there. He was the principal of Piedmont for ....16 years or something. He was the principal the entire time I was there- 8th through 12th grade. Anyway, no more band announcements every 5 minutes over the intercom. Now that Coach Champion is taking over, the sports announcements are a lot more likely to take their place. haha. I am so glad UGA is HUGE and there is no way to do an intercom system. That would be ridiculous! hehehe "That's CrAzY!!" (think Brian Fellow's voice! *wink*=) The closest we have to something like that is this HUGE siren thingy that lets us know to take cover if a tornado is coming through- which went off in the middle of my dance class fall semester '04 and then in my Spanish test the next period. In dance we had to sit in the dance school basement and in Spanish we stopped the test and the school closed. We had to slosh out to the buses in 6" deep water and try to get to our cars and drive home. That was an interesting day. I hate being rained on, but that day I felt like I was at White Water in regular clothes. (WW is way more fun....anyone up for it when it warms up some more?)
Anyway, the point was supposed to be that I couldn't go to Mr. Smith's party. And now I am passing time until about 4:20, when I will head out to Bethany to play some volleyball!! yee-haw!!! I am so excited! I l-o-v-e playing volleyball with my Bethany group! So fun! And after about 2 weeks of playing together hard core...usually by the middle of VBS....we can all kick butt, and it's a lot of fun! Our teamwork just starts to click again after some time together. hahahahaha- listen to me going on like I am sooo good. I totally STINK when I play at my apartment complex because the sand is so soft, and it takes forever to run around, plus my arms are short so I always tip the ball when I jump for it, and I get all bruised for nothing. Hence, my Athens friends yelling "haha...stumpy!" when I barely miss the ball. Oh well, I get better at home.
After volleyball, we are going to change and go to the family night supper there and listen to a Spring Renewel preacher, then go back to the McFarlin crib for some Cranium! I LOVE SUMMER! So fun! Call me if you want to come to this stuff, you are more than welcome!
Love,
Meghan
