Eventful Weekend

I can tell you right now that this entry will be LONG, so be warned to wait till you have time to read it! =)

Friday:
I had my Biology test (RRRGH) and my Spanish Oral Exam (not too bad, really. Ashley and I were well prepared for our "conversation.") I was so exhausted bc I stayed up till 3 am studying for that stuff, and wanted to just take a nap the whole next day because No Sleep+Lots of Medicine=VERY Sleepy Meghan. After classes ended, I drove into Covington to meet up with Tom, and we drove to Atlanta.

When we arrive in Atl, we parked the car and get on Marta, which drops us off at 5 Points. So we don't get on the marta bus to Turner field (Gamma Phi was having a Braves Date Night- fun times!), and end up walking near Underground in Atl FOREVER....well about for 20-30 min, but still it was rather creepy. I clutched Tom's hand like I was a lost little girl and he was my only chance of being safe. We could not get a bus at any stops, so finally, after much time praying to find a safe way to arrive, I see a taxi. I turned to Tom and said, "Do you have enough money for a taxi?" (for some reason i was carrying only $2) And he said "yeah" so I whipped around and hailed that cab like a natural city girl...which I am not. But enough visits to see your brother in a college up north, and you learn how to hail a cab. ....I say that like it's tough. All you do is raise your hand and say "Taxi!" or "hey!" but anyway, back to the story. He didn't have any passengers, so we jumped in and were there in about 5 minutes. Then we found our way up and found seats, which we quickly abandoned in order to sit with Claire and Phillip. That was so much fun- they are so fun to hang out with , and Tom and Phillip are hilarious when they are together. ...it gets a bit more like babysitting than dating, but it's funny. *grin*Anyway, so we left about the 8th inning. (Braves lost to the Cardinals in the end anyway, 5-6.)

We took the marta bus back to the station, then took his car to Ga Tech to meet Davey's fraternity, Theta Xi, for broomball. On the way there, my amazing lil sis, Jess, called me to see if I had fun. I absolutely love her- what a sweetheart, right? Right. *smile*=)OK, so we meet with Davey, and change into more athletic clothes (I wore a jean skirt to the game, so it was gym pants for broomball), and loaded into Davey's car with Julie, their former Theta Xi sweetheart. She is pretty cool- a Ga State alum who is gonna work on a dude ranch in Wyoming. That is pretty fun! So we get to ther ice rink where the Thrashers practice (when they aren't on strike, I guess) and divide into teams. It was funny, bc I met 3 girls from UGA there, and one was one of my sorority sisters, Jennifer Jackson, that is a sophomore that pledged in Jessica's pledge class. I had never met her, but recognized a Gamma Phi t-shirt, so I introduced myself. She is a total sweetheart, but, of course- she is a Gamma Phi! hehe =) Ok, so my definition of broomball is a bit different now that I have played it. There was a rink, and we wore tennis shoes, but the "kickball" was actually a small plastic ball, and the "brooms" were actually sticks with little plastic ends (not hockey sticks). It was SO SO SO SO FUN. People fall a lot because the ice gets in your shoe grooves and you have no traction so you slip and slide all over the place. The first time I hit the ball, the force of the swing of the stick made my feet go right out from under me, and I sat down SO hard right on my butt. haha! I fell a few more times, but I made some super good hits, and I TOTALLY DENIED this one dude who was trying to score on my team (we ended up losing in the end though). I have to write about my last spill on the ice though. We had about a minute left, and Jennifer (opposing team) and I were both trying to hit the ball. It ended up going out from us both, and as we turned after it, I slipped and fell to my knees, which were just about healed from my spill on the sidewalk last week. Then I started to fall to my right, so I stuck my hand out to catch myself, and it shot out across the ice bc it was so slippery, and my entire body, including my face- my jaw specifically, whacked the ice. I am not exaggerating on this one. I mean, it hurt. And I heard a "oooooh" from the rest of the people watching the game, so it probably looked painful...and sort of funny, to be honest....to them as well. I got up, and Jennifer said "Are you OK??" I said yes, but my knee felt like it was on fire. When we were done, I sort of walked stiffly off the ice, laughed with Tom and Davey about my multiple falls, then sat down to look at my knee. Yeah, it was most definately bruised and bleeding a lot. But, I didn't cry. I took a picture instead- go figure. My brother, Jonathan, saw it and said "You will take a picture of anything won't you?!" I gotta say, it looked impressive, what with the blood and the blue bruises and the other bruises of mesh design like the inside of my gym pants. After broomball ended at 3am, we all went to Waffle House and ate bc we worked up an appetite playing. None of us got to bed until about 5 am! Overall, I have to say it was an awesome night, and Davey's fraternity is totally amazing- some of the NICEST guys I have ever met, and I would totally support Tom joining them next year if he wanted to.

Ok, so the next day, around 1, Tom and I left for Covington. We got to his house, got showered and changed, and switched to my car. We drove to my house and hung out with my parents, with Jonathan, and with my nephew and niece, Tyler and Madeline. I just have to say that Tyler is one good looking little boy, and Maddie is one of the prettiest babies I have ever seen! *grin* So Maddie is teething, and she liked to grab my finger and chew on it. Other favorite pastimes were spitting up on her Aunt Meghan's shirt, and flirting with Tom while he played guitar (but who can blame her?)...*smile* So I handed her off to Tom and we took her to the lake to watch Tyler, Dad, and Jonathan throw sticks and rocks in while Lucy went chasing after them. (Actually I ended up holding her and the two of us watched ALL the guys throwing stuff, but that is not really too important.) I took her up to the house after a while because she needed a diaper change and she was getting fussy because she needed a nap, and I needed to clean off my shirt. So I gave her to mom just in time- she started to SCREAM when they (ended up being Jonathan) put her down for a nap. But that is ok- at least she has healthy little lungs! =)

Later that night, Tom and I went to see Alejandra's One Act Play (she wrote and directed it) and 3 other one-acts at OC. I liked the first 3 a lot. The last one...well...I can't say much that I was impressed, but I haven't written or directed a play, so I don't wanna criticize too much. Alejandra's was really good- about a girl dealing with her parents divorce, but in a very comical way. And my other fave was the 3rd one, about all these people interconnected through work, a bus stop, and other events. It was hilarious. Those two were great. In Alejandra's play, I laughed really loud in one part- I can't remember which part now- but I was so much louder than everyone else, I was embarassed. It was like everyone is going "hehehe" and then I yell "HA!" geezz....at least she can know I enjoyed her play! hehehehe *grin*

After the play, Tom and I went to his house and watched VH1, and I made us grilled cheese. I was sooo tired, I almost fell asleep, so I drove home and got there around midnight. I went straight to bed, and it was nasty bc I passed out on my bed in my clothes, make up, contacts- everything. ugh.

Sunday-Today- I went to church then drove out to Tom's Nana's house to eat chili cheese dogs (yum!), and Eli, Tom's cousin, and I had a long talk about scary movies and stuff. That was fun! Then Tom, Mrs. Patti, and Daddy T and I all went to PAC to watch Ben perform in the Band Concert. They were really good, and I was pretty impressed with the choir performance too. It was Mr. Smith's last time performing with the band-awwwww. He is retiring after this school year ends. And he sure is gonna miss his band. (Every day there were a million band announcements in hs. It was a huge joke after a while.)

After the concert, we stopped for pizza, then went to their house. I left not long after to get my stuff packed up so I could get back to school by 9 for the Family Guy episode that was new tonight- HECK YEAH! I LOVE FAMILY GUY!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, it didn't quite work out like that bc I got back to my house and saw this message on the facebook from guy in my Spanish Class named Patrick "you are looking better than ever. You are gorgeous and if someone tries to say something different, they can talk to me." I was like, ".....WHAT????WHAT IN THE HECK?!" Bc that was so uncharacteristic of him, and unappropriate what with me and Tom being together, and me talking about Tom alll the time to him. So I was totally shocked and unhappy, and I drove to OC to talk to Tom about it before heading back to school. (that was after I sent Patrick a msg asking what in the heck he was talking about). Needless to say, Tom was none too pleased, but not mad at me at all bc I didn't do anything wrong. I would wanna know if some chick said that to Tom, so I thought I should tell him. And when I got back to school, after a little while, I got a message from Patrick letting me know that the message was something his friend had done as a joke when he was on the facebook looking at Patrick's friends at his house. Thank goodness, because I was so uncomfortable, and it came out of NOWHERE. So, anyway, I will have to tell him to tell his friend he isn't really that funny. But that will be tomorrow.

Quite a weekend huh? Overall, it was pretty awesome. Last day of class is tomorrow, and then I have babysitting/studying Tues, and Studying for the rest of the week till 7:00pm Friday when I have my first exam-Espanol. Tomorrow is also senior willing at the house, so I am excited to go and see what all the seniors have to say and to hand out! I need to get Ashley- My grand big sis, a graduation present!

Alright, it's almost 2 am and I need to get to sleep so I am rested up for tomorrow.
Love,
Meghan
